When did it become ok?

When did it become ok for a man to ask a woman he hardly knows for a photo of her vagina?

When did it become ok to call a woman who does not want to have sex with you a prude, and a girl who does a whore?

When did it become ok for 12 year olds to partake in sexual activities?

When did it become ok for a NO to be interpreted as a yes.

It is either I’m missing something or society has reached a point where we are digressing. Our grandmothers and great grandmothers did not fight for our rights, for women equality so that we can stop being women. They fought so we would be afforded the same opportunities as men, so as to have the chance to actually achieve our wildest dreams; not so that it would be ok to be disrespected by each other and by men.

There is a difference between being sexually liberated and sexually dependant, the same way there is a difference between being a forward thinker and just having no moral boundaries what so ever. There is always a difference, and there is always a line that should not be crossed.

Maybe I am an idealist but this is not the world I grew up in. Where vulgarity, ill manners and crude behaviour is celebrated. My heart aches for my fellow youth because it feels like because we were born in a time where there are no movements towards any good, we just decided to move towards the bad. We are the free generation, the fair generation, the generation that was born into a world with boundless opportunity and although we do have our shinning stars we also have a whole bunch of question marks.

Questions that I one day hope I will have answers to.
